Nora, like her sisters Mary Ann and Kate, was a school teacher. She taught in many rural school houses between 1890 and 1916. According to the 1896 Hastings Gazette, January 19, 1895, Nora was a teacher in District 22, Rich Valley and in 1916 was teaching in Floodwood.
Nora died on December 15, 1916, of pneumonia. She was only 44. According to her obituary in the Dakota County Tribune,
The deceased was well known by many in this part of the country, having taught in a number of districts adjacent to Farmington. She loved her work and found joy in coming in contact and studying little children, especially in training them in the classroom.
She was interned with her mother in St. Agatha’s Cemetery, Vermillion. They were joined by her brother Patrick before the end of the month.
